Garment exporters earning $3bn annually’

Chairman PRGMEA (South Zone), Shaikh Shafiq Rafiq, has said that improvement in the procedure of DTRE is the need of the hour to enable Pakistan to compete with China, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and other countries for the global market share.
He said this while speaking a meeting organized by the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) to identify their members’ issues related to Customs. Mohsin Ayub Mirza, Central Chairman PRGMEA said that our country needs public private partnership to emerge from the multiple problems facing the textile industry. The textile industry is undergoing a critical phase of survival amid liquidity crunch, timely action from Pakistan Customs for release of pending claims is required in these testing times.
